Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with wireless earphones.
It was reported a few weeks back that Samsung might remove the 3.5mm headphone jack from the Galaxy S8, similar to what Apple, Motorola, and LeEco have done this year. Later, we saw multiple prototypes, and some of them with 3.5mm headphone jacks. Still, the company might be pushing towards wireless audio.
According to the rumors and the way other manufacturers have headed, Samsung will launch new wireless in-ear headphones alongside the Galaxy S8. It’s not certain whether they would be bundled along with the smartphone or sold separately, but Samsung is surely looking to put out a product that competes with Apple’s AirPods. Whether or not these new headphones feature Harman audio remains to be seen.
The way audio technology is heading, bluetooth seems to be the main input source. Every car stereo now comes equipped with bluetooth support. Every major headphone manufacturer are moving towards bluetooth as the main point of connection so more than likely Samsung will get rid of the 3.5 headphone jack. While it would be nice to keep it, it makes sense as to why they would remove it. More internal space for perhaps a thinner phone, better waterproofing and perhaps bigger battery. It would be better if the company can show us proof (through its upcoming wireless headphones) that it is truly ready for a wireless audio future before yanking out the headphone jack from its smartphones.
